Wally Wins!

Wally won his weight class race last Saturday, at the Wiener Nationals hosted at Golden Gate Fields. Wally came in fourth in the overall race after getting a little head start:) We couldn't be more proud of Wally. He's still not sure how he's going to spend his $50 prize.

Wally's First Big Race

So Robert and I discovered a video from Wally's first Wiener Nationals Race, last year was posted to YouTube over the weekend. Just to set this video up, it was Wally's first ever race, he did not win. He went half way and ran back to Robert. But it was after the race where this video starts. Wally loved running around the track so much he would not let us catch him, once the race was over. It's me and Robert running around like rodeo clowns trying to catch Wally, who is running around with a tennis ball in his mouth the whole time. Every time we try to catch Wally and he gets away the crowd of wiener people and drunk gamblers cheer. At least Wally made it up to us this year by winning:)

Wally and Ocean Beach and his friends

Wally and Miss Mac, his orange little pal Topher and his big buddy Axle.

They both want the ball. Axle (170 lbs. Great Dane), Wally (16 lbs. pure Tube).

Too bad Robert doesn't like dogs. Robert and Velvet BBFs.

Wally gets Osama!

Just by coincidence Robert and I got Wally an Osama Bone Laden toy this afternoon; and tonight we gave it to him.

The Tube weighs in on the Royal Wedding – Who’s Not Invited!

Wally plans on (his Mom is making him) viewing the royal wedding early Friday morning, while nibbling on scones. Wally will surely also have plenty on thoughts on the dress and the flowers. However, Wally is upset to learn his favorite English Royal’s will not be attending the wedding at all. The Queen’s five Corgis and four Dorgis (Corgi-Dachshund crosses) are not invited to the Abbey for the wedding. Poor, Emma, Linnet, Monty, Holly, Willow, Cider, Berry, Candy and Vulcan. Hope someone at least brings them some leftover cake!

What would a Royal Dorgi wedding look like? Well the Tube has some thoughts. He has seen enough episodes of TLC’s “Say Yes to the Dress,” to know what kind of dress would flatter a Dachshund/Dorgi Bride figure. Below Wally is modeling his favorite dress style.

The mermaid shaped dress, really flatters the long peanut shaped body type of a Dachshund/Dorgi. This one from one of the Tube’s favorite wedding dress designers Sottero and Midgley, is a lovely satin number in ivory. With glistening band of beaded embellishments illuminates the natural tube waist while a beaded motif adds a splash of sparkle at the side hip. Wally is also wearing an earpiece adore with silk flowers, net pouf and feathers from designer Erica Koesler. “It’s hard for Dachshunds to pull off a veil,” says the Tube. Less is more; Wally feels when it comes to accessories. Wally does a spring bouquet and a simple string of multi colored pearls, adorn with a copper and silver ID tag. “You don’t want anything that will take a way your shiny soft fur,” Wally comments. All this Dachshund needs now is a groom.

Oh, scones at 2AM are sooooo good!
